Polyester vs. Cotton vs. Rayon Thread

Polyester vs. Cotton vs. Rayon Thread

When it comes to embroidery, thread choice matters just as much as the design itself. The type of thread affects how your finished piece looks, feels, and lasts.

At Designs Embroidered, we use polyester thread for all of our projects. Here’s why:

  • Polyester Thread – Strong, vibrant, and fade-resistant. It stands up to sunlight, bleach, and frequent washing, making it perfect for towels, bags, and clothing that see everyday use.
  • Cotton Thread – Soft and natural, but prone to fading and breaking over time, especially with washing or exposure to cleaning products.
  • Rayon Thread – Shiny and smooth, but less durable. It can lose its color and strength when exposed to moisture or harsh detergents.

Our polyester thread gives each embroidery a crisp, clean finish that lasts wash after wash—keeping your design as bright and beautiful as the day it was made.
