Why Do My Towels Have Clear Plastic on My Designs?

If you’ve received an embroidered towel from us and noticed a thin layer of clear plastic over the design, don’t worry—it’s completely normal.

That material is a water-soluble stabilizer, a special embroidery covering that helps keep top threads from sinking into the towel’s thick loops during stitching. Without it, the threads could get buried in the fabric, making your design look uneven or dull.

Once your towel is complete, we rinse or steam away most of the stabilizer. A small amount may remain temporarily, but it will dissolve completely the first time the towel is washed or exposed to water.

This process ensures that every embroidered design looks clean, crisp, and professional—even on the fluffiest 650 GSM towels we use.
